New York City has lots of great museums. MoMa, Guggenheim and the Brooklyn museum to name a few. As always, so many things, so little time ... and that's why the Whitney Museum definitely is worth a visit. It is impressive but it won't take you half a day to see it all. As long as you are, like us, not a hardcore artlover. We were in and out within 1,5 hours. The museum is right in the middle of the Meatpacking District where there's lots of other stuff to be done and seen. And we left with some lasting impressions. The Whitney stole our hearts.

There's a terrace on every floor and the view from each one is breathtaking.

Don't you think this little museum pond is cool?

I was totally fascinated by the "Standing Julian" sculpture by Urs Fischer. This giant is made of wax and will burn daily until February 12, 2017.

A visit to the Whitney combines well with exploring the Meatpacking District. The museum is right along the Highline (which is also a must). And, while you're here you might aswell go check out Chelsea Market.
