Peace and quiet. Sometimes you really long for that while exploring New York City. And whether or not you're an urban jungle type, the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens are well worth a visit. We picked a beautiful warm and sunny day and totally enjoyed ourselves.
There is so much to see, feel and smell. We saw spectacular colorful flowers and waterplants in the Tropical Pavilion and we never knew there are so many kinds of orchids and bonsais.
Brooklyn Botanical Gardens offers various educational programs for kids up to 17. Like, where does your food come from?
We wandered through the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens for about 2 hours and must admit that we skipped some parts. Saw some people sitting on a bench reading a book. That would have been nice also. But hey, duty calls, that's not why we went there.
There are so many picture perfect spots for photoshoots.
We ended our visit in the shop. Which is pretty cool also.
Entrance fee for the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens is $ 12 dollar. Check here what the opening hours are. They vary depending on the season.
