Worldfamous and every cabdriver can take you there with his eyes closed, the flagshipstore of Tiffany & Co on Fifth Avenue. Ever since 1940 Tiffany has been housed in this huge Art Deco styled building with stainless steel doors and a bronze Atlas with a big clock on his shoulders above the entrance.

The openingsscene of the romantic comedy "breakfast at Tiffany's" (1961) shows Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly doing some windowshopping at Tiffiany & Co. Holding coffee in her hand and enjoying a roll, "the quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there".

The enormous success of this movie is still paying off. The flagshipstore in New York City is always packed with tourists.

But it was not at all what I had expected. I thought it would be more intimate (and perhaps also more classy?), the flagshipstore was much bigger than what I had in mind. And I knew there were multiple stories, but this many?

You'll find the flashipstore on 5th Avenue and 57th Street. There are also smaller Tiffany's in New York City on Wall Street and in SoHo.
