After a quick peek in the Guggenheim we decided to stroll through Central Park towards Midtown with a short stop at The Loeb Boathouse. A beautifull location in Central Park with its very popular Lake Side Restaurant. A place in which you need to make reservations long before you even know it's gonna be a nice summer day. We were here on a crispy cold day around 4 pm and were in luck. The restaurant wasn't open for dinner yet and in the bar, next to the fireplace were two lovely loungechairs with our names on them. Time for our happy hour.
There's also an outsidebar, there aren't many of those in New York. And the expresscafe, for a coffee to go or a quick sandwich.
Happy hour for Newyorkcitytripper Daphne
We paid a pretty price for this great spot; I paid 20 dollars for two beers. But it was actually worth it.
You can rent row-boats to take out on the Lake. Don't feel like rowing yourself? Get a Venetian Gondola with your own gondelier.
Check The Loeb Boathouse for reservations, prices and openinghours.
