It was Monday, around 2 pm and it felt like we had been at it for a whole day already after our Mile High Run Club class and the stroll through NoHo, Nolita and Little Italy. Although it wasn't too long ago since we had breakfast at The Butcher's Daughter our bodies were screaming for a latte. And what a coincidence (or not); straight ahead of us was The Grey Dog. Caroline, our Yoga to the People yogi, had mentioned that.
We were welcomed by a hip and happy host who quickly put a bandana on a nearby table. Which meant so much as "reserved for the Newyorkcitytrippers".
What a cool place and what a good atmosphere. Laid back, easygoing, causal cool. Eclectic but not messy. Lots and lots to see. The Newyorkcitytrippers have never been more quiet during a coffeebreak. Do check out the bathroom if you end up in The Grey Dog. But make sure that nobody is waiting to get in. I sort of forgot about the rest of the world and felt really ashamed when I realised that I had been in there for minutes, staring at the walls, while someone was waiting to get in. He must have thought....
There are 4 Grey Dog's in New York. We were in the one on Mulberry and will definitely go check out the ones on 49 Carmine St, 90 University Pl. and 242 West 16th St. next chance we get!
