Yoga to the People

"let's see how quickly you can move your body from bustle to complete nothingness". This was how Caroline started one of the best Power Vinyasa Flow lessons I have ever had. Yoga to the People wants yoga to be available for everybody. The classes cost just as you see fit and think is fair although the suggested donation is 10 dollars. Don't have enough money? Pay less. Can you easily afford it? Then you're most welcome to pay a little extra.

The class was pretty tough but was so well put together that both experienced and not so experienced yogi's could follow along. At the end of the class we were given the opportunity to move just as we wanted to. Which meant that some went into a headstand and others went straight into Savasana. Caroline ended the class wonderfully: "unless you think you are so super important that you have to go do important stuff I dare you to stay in Savasana as long as you possibly can. And if you want to end your Savasana stay there for an extra 10 more breaths".

We went to the East Village / St Marks but there are five other Yoga to the People studio's in New York City (downtown, Brooklyn and Upper West Side). Check their site for addresses and schedules.

Simply put, yoga made available to everyone.
