We found this place sort of by accident while venturing on our bicycles along the Long Island City side of the East River. A somewhat industrial area. It was a warm and sunny day and we were thirsty. So when the word "Bar" caught our eyes we quickly decided to go see what was there.
The entrance of the Anable Basin Bar & Grill is literally a hole in a fence and when we first got there it was not very crowded. We did not know what to think of this place but the view was great and we were really thirsty....
Long story short. We liked it! And if you don't mind drinking out of a can or a plastic cup and love to look at the skyline of Manhattan while sitting at a picknickbench you will too! On a warm and sunny day this is a cool place to be. There's also a small selection of food (think steak, burgers, hotdogs and salads).

Anable Basin Sailing Bar & Grill is just off Vernon Boulevard at 4-40 44th Dr Long Island City, NY 11101. Don't let the industrial area scare you off!
